US Ambassador to Kosovo Philip Costnett has written after the meeting he had with Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj and discussions on fighting corruption.
He says he has shown the chief executive that it is not the problem with the law why Kosovo is not fighting corruption, but politics is guilty.
At the meeting with the high level of rule of law, I heard that Kosovo has the laws and resources it needs to fight corruption and to implement equal justice for all citizens, without special treatment for those related. But the problem is not the law, the problem is politics. Americans are talking because they are concerned about Kosovo's future”, the American ambassador wrote.
He asks whether political leaders will take action to fight nepotism, organised crime and corruption and stop by mediating people's employment and influencing the law. .
“Will Kosovo leaders turn words into works and ban employment and trust Kosovo citizens in the country's democracy enough to demand that actions be taken?
And in the end, he says that during the meeting with state leaders, women's absence is noticed, saying Kosovo will succeed when women lead.
