Radovan Karadzic Born June 19, 1945, in the village of Petnjica near Shavnik in Montenegro. His father was a shoemaker and his mother was a housemaker.
He was arrested in Belgrade on July 21st 2008 and was later extradited to the Netherlands. Often, it is referred to as the “The Bosnian butcher”.
These were the charges Karadzic was charged with and convicted: Genocide, in eight Bosniak municipalities but which was removed during today's decision.

Persecution on political, racial and religious grounds, and crimes against humanity in 25 Bosnian municipalities.
