In an address to ministers and diplomats at the United Nations, Jolie said Afghan women are risking their lives, calling for their rights to be included in talks that have started in the late 2018 between American officials and Taliban.
“In Afghanistan, many women have become together, risking their lives, calling for their rights and children to be guaranteed in peaceful talks, and so far they are not allowed to participate in them”, Jolie said.
Despite President Donald Trump's withdrawal from several UN agencies, Jolie said the US is an important part of the international community and that there can be no peace in Afghanistan if women's rights are continued to be ignored. /Okinfo. ch/
