Sergio Ramos managed to stand up after he was injured in last night's match against Girona and was able to prove himself as captain of the team, helping the Madrillians take a seat in the semifinals of the King's Cup.
After Real Madrid had won the first match with a score of 4:2, coach Santiago Solar was expected to give his leading players a break. Yet, Ramos did not want to do so because he asked for more qualifications.
During the time that 32-year-old kept the captain's tape, he has managed to win the titles of the La League, the Champions League and the World Cup for Clubs. He's never won the King's Cup title, but he'll try to do it this season.
This goal has become clear during this King's Cup season, since Ramos has made more appearances in this season compared to all other seasons, except the 2013/14 season when the Madrillians won the championship title.
He has proved decisive in the journey of Real Madrid towards the final of this tournament even this season, marking two goals in the first match against Girona, as well as when he volunteered to travel to Melilla for coach Santiago Solar's first match as Real Madrid coach.
If Ramos wants to raise the title of the King's Cup as captain, to complete his cabinet, he must first defeat his rival Barcelona in the semifinals. The first El Classico will take place in Camp Nou on 6 February, while the return match will be played in Santiago Bernabau on 27 February.
