Thaci: Trump, Pompeo guarantee Serbia will recognise Kosovo

Kosovo President Hashim Thaci has declared today that the people and Kosovo have the great support and guarantee of reaching the final agreement with Serbia in Brussels by the United States of America (SHBA).

Thaci has said he wants Kosovo to clarify the report with Serbia once and for all, as it has a guarantee from the US.

He has said that unless an agreement is reached this year, Kosovo is expected to enter dangerous areas that could destabilise the entire region, the Metro newspaper broadcasts.

We wanted to clarify our report with Serbia, which can only be achieved through dialogue that has US and EU support. It's time for hostility to be left behind. If no agreement is reached this year, we will enter a dangerous area that can destabilise the entire region”, Thaci has said.

Thaci has said that from US President Donald Trump's letters and his secretary Mike Pompeo have received clearer guarantees that the agreement with Serbia implies mutual recognition.

“These days in Trump and Pompeo letters we have received clearer guarantees that the agreement with Serbia implies mutual recognition. We can't have any guarantees greater than the US administration's words and pledge for this”, Thaci said.

RIDEA has organised the People's Voice conference around “GreatFinales” between Kosovo and Serbia, which is attended by institutional leaders and leaders of political parties, the survey was released that answers some of the key dilemmas that characterise the dialogue of the final phase between Kosovo and Serbia.
