Hashim Thaci has mentioned Russia, Serbia's number one ally, via Periscopi, during this conference.
Thaci has acknowledged that it will be difficult to reach an agreement, as there are great differences between Kosovo and Serbia.
Kosovo's president, among other things, has said Russia will also accept the agreement with Serbia.
You can read Thaci's complete statement below:
“Today I was focused on discussing the future and the possibility of reaching agreement with Serbia. Vuciq has said he will protect Serbia, but we are not in battle here, so it's good to play the drama. They all know Serbia has been cleaning up during the 1990s. As for the Association, we have signed agreements that will be in accordance with the Constitution. It seems that Vuciq still does not understand that I am the president of a sovereign state. It wasn't easy to reach the deal, but the others had made it before us, but that's what we got. Since hostility is great between the two countries, then the agreement will be difficult, almost impossible. We have big differences, but we're still talking. The agreement that will reach must recognise Kosovo and we join the UN. I know there will be compromises that we will discuss, as Belgrade will not give us as a gift of recognition, or enable us UN membership. It is a lifesaving innovation that Russia will probably accept the agreement we will reach with Serbia, and that would bring global recognition of the agreement between the two countries. Peace too will be built. We can be the Franco-German model of the Second World War. I know he's critical, but no one is giving any ideas about overcoming this situation. In the Balkans, Pandora's Box is open, so the final agreement with Serbia would close it. We're the most pro-American people in the world, so we won't spare anything to reach the deal. There will be no type deal: one celebrates, the other laments,” said Thaci. /Periscope/
