Following Vladimir Putin's warning, Russian state television listed military objects Moscow would target in the case of a nuclear attack, said Russia's hypersonic missile would be able to strike them in less than five minutes.
Targets include the Pentagon and the presidential residence in Camp David, Maryland.
The report, unusual for the very standards of this television, was broadcast several days after the Kremlin's chief said Moscow was “militarily “ready for a type <x2-4>racles”, if the United States wants one, says tch.
Tensions have been added, fuelled by Russian concerns that America could locate medium-range nuclear missiles operating in Europe, following the abolition of the Cold War treaty on gun control.
Putin said that in the case of such a scenario, Russia would be forced to respond by placing supersonic nuclear missiles on submarines near American waters.
The US, however, says it is not currently planning to move such missiles to the old continent and has sounded Putin's warnings as mere propaganda.
