Drenas ' municipality for 2018 has taken over as Kosovo's most transparent municipality.
This assessment was given by a one-year research conducted by KDI [Kosovo Democratic Institute] in co-operation with the British Embassy in Kosovo.
Drenas of 118 points has received a total of 97 or 97 % points. Meanwhile, as a less transparent municipality in this research, Mamsuha's municipality came out with only 32 points from 118 points to the peak score.
KDI Executive Director Ismet Kryeziu said working in 11 municipalities has been a challenge in itself, Klan Kosova reports.
From this research, he said that the lack of transparency by some of the municipalities points out that such a thing exists even at the central level.
Meanwhile, he added that of 150 meetings with citizens have been very productive in including citizens of these municipalities who were part of the research to give the latter the opportunity in decision-making in the cities in which they live.
Meanwhile, British Ambassador to Kosovo Ruairi O'Connell said this project aims for citizens to seek more responsibility from their leaders.
He urged Kosovars to be more demanding towards politicians towards those who lead them and to see that the latter are keeping its promises are accomplishing what they promised in time of campaign.
