Prime Ministerial Shock: A teacher who trusts the child and a policeman who believes in security abuses a minor

Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj has reacted to the case published in the media today, on suspicion of abusing a 16-year-old from Drenas by a teacher and police officer.

Haradinaj said he has received news with concern, but has thanked the media for discovering the case.

With concern, I received news of the latest case of sexual abuse with minors from Drenas. I'm shocked that a teacher we trust the child and a policeman who trust security to abuse a minor. I commend the municipal and central authorities' rapid response to these abusers. I co-operate with the abused family and I assure them that justice bodies will deal seriously. I want to thank the media for the unstoppable commitment to report on such cases and postpone institutional and social response. I prefer all girls and women who are the target of abuse and threats of this nature, to represent cases and to report offenders.
