Kosovo Police Inquiry Chief Executive Chief Miradije Kelmendi, during her report to the Commission for Internal Affairs over the abuse of official duty by police official in Drenas, Vesel Veselini, said they suspect there are other members of different institutions involved in the case.
Regarding the phone that the suspect has not handed over, Kelmendi said that during the raid only one phone that has no access to social networks has been found, and that they have now asked Kosovo Telecom to know the location of that phone.
The first Commission for Internal Affairs, Security and Supervision of the Kosovo Security Force, but chief Kosovo Police Inspectorate chief reported, was also arrested and the lawyer, Gazmend Halilaj, who prompted the case of the minor from Drenas to return to the prosecutor. Asked about the matter, Kelmendi refused to accept the word by recommending that we address the State Prosecutor.
In addition to this information the media were not allowed to take more details about the case of the Drenas police official, as IPK's chief chief, Miradije Kelmendi, has demanded that the meeting be kept closed with the argument that the case is still being investigated.
And there was great opposition from Vetevendosje Movement MP Rexhep Selimi, who said the event in Drenas has been very controversial in public and the latter should be further informed by the IPK what is going on.
Kelmendi before the deputies has indicated that once they receive the information they have launched investigations that resulted from the arrest of the suspected police, teachers and doctor. She added that they have conducted several raids at home and in the authority of the suspected doctor, where there are also some necessary items for the investigative process.
Internal Affairs Commission member Jedal Svecla requested clarification from Kelmendi about the Drinas Police case, which according to reports on the media has refused to hand over his IPK investigators phone.
“The suspect has refused to hand over his phone, where he is now located, whether his phone is in the hands of the investigators or not, and whether he is having information from the phone is leaking point-by-point to the opinion in order to discredit the victim”, Svechla asked.
In this case, IKP chief Miradije Kelmendi said:
We found another phone that doesn't have access to social networks. The phone he's allegedly using is suspected of having none of it, we haven't been able to find it, I believe we have enough evidence ... there's no way that any information is coming out, the investigation will prove...2251 Now we've made the requests in the mail for the location and we're conducting the investigations”, Kelmendi stressed.
While Vetevendosje Movement MP Rexhep Selimi asked Kelmendi if there are other people involved in the case, with particular emphasis on whether lawyer Gammen Halilaj, who had reported the case to the minor from Drenas.
“A has other suspected persons as incriminating in this case, so in the case we're referring to, in the case of the V.V. police official, so it's known that the police official has been incriminating, at times an education employee and also a gynecologist...1610)28 Is the lawyer also suspected who denounced the case”, he said.
In her response, Kosovo Police Inspectorate chief said there are other persons involved, even from other institutions, but that because of the investigation I cannot give more details.
There are other people incriminating in this case and other people from other institutions.
Commission member Rexhep Selimi requested clarification from Kelmendi in the 2015 case when another police official was involved in sexual relations, and due to the report of the case official Valbona Osmani is still under fire.
Kelmendi said they are awaiting answers from the court as far as Valbona Osmani is concerned.
After completing the commission's meeting of VV members, Rexhep Selimi, has not ruled out the possibility of firing Chief Chief Miradie Kelmendi.
“Exists a task force for monitoring the Kosovo Police Inspectorate law, which next week will convey recommendations or draft recommendations to the commission and then forward to the session, so this position cannot talk about possible recommendations that you are referring to as applying for the dismissal of the head of the Kosovo Police Inspectorate does not rule out that this may be the commission's opinion, but nevertheless this issue will be addressed in the recommendations of the body”, Selim stated.
He has demanded that institutions responsible for the child abuse case from Drenasi go all the way.
We remember that a few weeks ago the allegations of sexual abuse of the 16-year-old minor from Drenas by the teacher and then by police investigator in Drenas caused numerous reactions and protests, as well as the arrest of police official and educators, while the gynecologist is under house arrest.
