It is learned that Balluk has sought to change the decision to ban imports of cars older than 10 years of production.
Since January of this year, importation of vehicles older than 10 years of production is not allowed in Albania.
The decision taken in environmental protection is taught that it has been sought to be changed by Infrastructure and Energy Minister Belinda Balluk.
Sources have indicated that the working group has been asked by the minister to reconsider the decision made by its predecessors, thus favouring businessmen of old cars.
The proposal comes at a time when Albania ranks in countries with the highest level of pollution, sometimes more than the rate allowed by the European Union.
According to an WTO report, the pollution level is equal to the consumption of 7 cigarettes a day.
Experts even say that in Albania 50 per cent of environmental pollution is due to automotive gases.
In Tirana, the number of vehicles perkm 2 is estimated to be larger than Amsterdam or Berlin.
It was under those conditions that it was decided to stop the introduction of old cars in Albania, requiring the consumption of euro 5.
This is because an old car pollutes four times as much as a new vehicle.
But under conditions where EU countries are demanding that only be allowed in circulation at 6 euros, stimulating the market exit of old cars in Albania with projects. /ora
