A group of scientists from the University of Copenhagen found that analgenetic and antipiretic ibuprophins can lead to infertility among males.
Research results are published in the magazine “Procedures of the National Academy of Sciences”.
The experiment was attended by 31 men from 18 to 35. But they became two parties. The first group of respondents received 600 milligrams ibuprofen (the three-paints) per day for six weeks, while others took placebo.
After 14 days, the production of the hormone was observed among men in the first group. It affects the synthesis of the testosterone needed for the formation of sperm. The hormone's excessive concentration reduces the production of testosterone and results in barrenness.
Scientists pointed out that their subjects took ibuprofen into moderate doses, so the negative consequences were not too pronounced.
However, those who receive such relief in large, regular doses, such as professional athletes, must be more cautious.
