Kusari Lil: Through tax, Serbia will recognise Kosovo

The Speaker of the Alternative, at the same time deputy of the Kosovo Assembly, Mimoza Kusari '%a, has said that the way the Kosovo Government has imposed tax on Serbian and Bosnian products has been not well thought out in the sense of conditioning, as, according to her, through the tax, as Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj is looking for, Serbia will [...]

The Kosovo Government's decision, for the extent 100 percent, has been a poorly thought-out decision, in terms of conditioning. Serbia necessarily needs sanction of a form, and Kosovo alone has the economic sanctions in this case, raising the tax or setting reciprocity, but there should be a clearer condition where citizens would benefit. The Government's error, when it has imposed tax, has been that sʹka sets the cost of implementing agreements signed by Serbia, such as energy, free movement and recognition of Kosovo documents.

Kusari Lila at the weekly interview in KOHA.net says the decision written that the tax will remain in force until Serbia recognises Kosovo is at odds with the principle of dialogue.

He has talked about the dialogue platform, which was sent to the Parliament these days and is soon to be voted by MPs. But, Kusari '% Lila, says she doesn't understand why this platform should be voted in when there is no continuing dialogue. The Deputy Alternative, among other things, voiced optimism that a final agreement with Serbia will be reached. The Negotiator team, she said, has many problems and no transparency.

For increasing pressure from the United States and the EU, Kusari Lila says it shows a seriousness of the situation.

“We have no more strategic and reliable partner. If you're the only one under pressure, and you're only against the whole world, then what are you trying to achieve? We need to understand that no one will pressure Serbia with this decision and say recognise Kosovo, because then, why should dialogue?”, the chairman of the Alternative has indicated.

Kusari Lila, says Haradinaj, will keep the tax while it is in force and then use it for electoral campaign, but with that decision, he is not thinking about the state's interest but only himself.

When speaking of President Hashim Thaci's idea of border movement, which has said it would be a problem for him to do so after they've come from Yugoslavia, Kusari said that the movement of borders does not regulate the lives of citizens. “Serbs and Albanians in Kosovo are not being killed to move borders now”, she said.

The Speaker of the Alternative, at the Coha.net Week Interview, has also spoken of its mandate as Minister of Trade, at the time, when it had imposed reciprocity measures on Serbia.

“Serbia, after declaring Independence, did not recognise Kosovo's customs seals, then these seals were in line with Resolution 12 44. So they allowed no goods from Kosovo to circulate or transit. Even at the dialogue table in Brussels, they refused to recognise them. Coordinating with Mrs. Edita Tahiri, we warned measures against Serbia. After we received confirmation from the EU that at the negotiating table in Brussels Serbia refuses to recognise them, I made the decision. So, I decided the move to stop all Serbian products and Serbian trucks from entering Kosovo. This measure lasted 50 days until Serbia decided to recognise the” seals, she said.

Kosovo, tomorrow 17 February 2019, turns 11 years of state. And Kusari Lil has fully praised these years of Kosovo.

A eleven-year-old, but still irresponsible for his responsibilities. Kosovo 11 years of state we thought it would be more responsible children, a more responsible young state. We failed some points. We are not respecting those who have helped us to grow, but I wish that challenges have strengthened and reminded us. We haven't learned from the mistakes of others, insisted on making mistakes ourselves, and this is Kosova 11 years. The moment has come that Kosovo in 12, 14 years of state will begin to grow and take responsibility for the lives of citizens inside to have Kosovo with people because it needs an empty Kosovo where professional forces flee to other states”, Kusari dealt with Lila has said.
