Kelmendi secures medal, Kosovo golden breast qualifies in final

Olympic champion Majlinda Kelmendi has secured a medal and a seat in the finals of the Grand Slam of Dusseldorf in Germany. In the semifinals, Kelmendi defeated Italian jungle Odette Giuffrieda, with ippon, in the weight category of up to 50 pounds [52 kg]. With this victory, Kosovo has secured the silver medal, but will attempt to win the gold medal.

In the quarterfinals, Majlinda defeated the Korean jungle, Bokoyeong Yeong, with the ippon. Initially, Kosovo had been losing with technical results, but, near the end of the match, it proved very strong for its opponent, who was trying to secure a place in the semifinals by wasting time.
In the third circle, the Peyan jungle defeated the Brazilian jungle, Eleudis Valentim, while in the second circle, triumphed against the German jungle, Verna Thumm.
Both of these matches, in the second and third circle, Kelmendi spent them beating opponents with ippon, while the first circle passed without war.
In the final, Majlinda will face the jungle from Mongolia, Sosorbaram Lkhagvasuren.
This is the second Judo race in which Kelmendi is participating this year, after resting in Paris' Grand Slam. In the first race, at Tel Aviv's Grand Prix, she had won the gold medal.
Majlinda is the only racer representing Kosovo, as other Judists, Akil and Nora Gjakova, Distria Krasniqi and Loriana Kuka, fired.
This good form, the Peyan jungle will try to show it in the next, Grand Slam, Germany, where 683 contestants from 97 countries are participating. Grand Slam is valid for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
