Supreme Court Chairman Enver Peci has hosted a meeting today of Supreme Council on Anti-Corruption Measures at the UNDP Central Office, Euy-Whan Kim, and UNDP representatives in Kosovo, Mato Mayer and Albert Avdiu, become known through a media communiqué.
In this case, Pec has reported Whan Kim to the functioning of the Supreme Court, noting the commitment to unifying the judicial practice, especially in cases of corruption.
We're the system that we're trying to consolidate, and currently, with the help of the UNDP and the American Embassy in the analysis phase. The cases of corruption are being analysed how many courts have stood up to legal reasoning, whether sufficient reasoning has been given for extenuating and burdensome circumstances”, Peci said, noting that the judicial system is currently dealing not only with numbers, how many subjects have been carried out, but also with the quality of prejudices and concrete law enforcement, analysis of the law's application.
The Supreme Chief stressed the concern that exists as a result of the current penal policy, but also voiced optimism that in the coming years, courts will harmonise sentences for similar criminal acts, Coha.net broadcasts.
On the other hand, expert on The UNDP, Whan Kim, gave several suggestions to Peci about fighting corruption in the country, stressing the need to assess the integrity of judges as one of the preventative measures in the fight against corruption.
The two conversationators expressed readiness to co-operate in the future, in finding ways to fight corruption, strengthen rule of law in the country, and return public confidence to the judiciary.
We remember that it was Enver Peci who posed in a picture of two people suspected of criminal acts two weeks ago, one of them dropping a bomb and causing general danger.
Gent Qamili and Dzevat Bunnjaku have received a special gift today from President of the Supreme Court of Kosovo Enver Peci. They have been rewarded with state gratitude by Peci himself for helping him from them at the Zurich airport.
Mayor Peci has donated Qamili with a Kosovo map that holds Kosovo's map in appreciation for the contribution he had made after spilling coffee into his fingers during the time that Peci was waiting to return from Brussels to Pristina.
Peci has said that Gazeta Insander is unaware of who Qamili and Dzevat Bunjaku are, but that according to him they have expressed their desire to visit the chairman in his office at the Palace of Justice.
I'm coming with you on a short visit to Switzerland, and I said thank you if the institution of the court is open, and I don't know who they are, nor mention land with absolute suspicion, even because of the gratitude of a map of Kosovo that I have as an institution as a thank-you sign”, Peci said.
