Kosovo woke up today with news that one of its most famous academics, Idriz Ajjeti, had died. He was 102 years old, born during the time of World War I in the village of Tupalla of the former Kingdom of Serbia, writes Periscopi. This village is located near Medvedja.
He was an Albanologist from Kosovo and one of the most honourable Albanian-language researchers after World War II. For a long period of time, Ajjet was involved in the academic life of the University of Pristina. He was a member of the Kosovo Academy of Sciences and Arts. He completed primary school in the Serbian language near the village of Banja Srpska. Then she attended the Skopje Medresa in 1938. Ajjet registered Romanistics at the Faculty of Philosophy at Zagreb University, but finished his studies only after World War II in 1949.
From '49 to '53, she taught Albanian in high school in Pristina.
He attended the 1972 Ortography Congress in Tirana, where the orthographic standard of the Albanian language was set.
