There seem to be many things that can be done wrong in raising a baby, and putting it to sleep is one of them. According to a new study published in the Mediatrics, in the timeline of eight years more than 9,000 cases of deaths have been recorded among babies, and one of the causes has been the establishment of the child to sleep on the couch.
As the authors of the study argue risk factors, it is very likely that babies will have been sleeping with another person on the couch and that they will be more likely to be positioned directly or on their side (when the safest way to lay a baby is on their backs). Researchers pointed out that the sofa is also a dangerous place for light naps.
To minimize the risk of infant death syndrome (SIDS), the American Academy of Pediatrics has compiled a list of 5 simple advice to follow.
Always put your child to sleep on the back (if your child is large enough to roll in bed, don't worry, since chances of staying in an adverse position are almost 0 because the child is able to roll and change sides)
The babies need to sleep on a flat surface on a children's bed or a base that meets safety standards. Never put your child to sleep on a couch or a water mattress.

Replacing pillows, toys, or other items in bed can not be recommended that turn into a source of incident for the baby.
The safest place for your child to sleep is in a children's bed or a mover that's in the same room as you.
