Facebook today has the anniversary of its establishment, here's the social network story.

On February 4th 2004, Facebook, a network of social connections online, was founded by Mark Zuckerberg with his four roommates, meanwhile students at Harvard University; Eduardo Saverin, Andree McCollum, Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes.
The name Facebook comes from a range of words for the textbooks that students are equipped with in some American universities.
Founders had initially restricted Facebook membership only for Harvard students, but later expanded it for Boston, Princeton, Yale, Stanford. Gradually, Facebook was opened to students at colleges and other universities, then to high school students, and finally to all persons 13 years of age and older worldwide.
In 2012, Facebook was praised as a business company worth $104 billion.
In January 2014, Facebook chief Sheryl Sandberg explained: “Mark Zuckerberg always says Facebook started not only to be companies, but also to fulfill the vision to connect people in the world”.
