EU gives 32m euros for energy to Western Balkan countries

This financing adds to the other 50m euros previously granted by the EU to strengthen the region's energy policies.
The “Money is destined for green transition so that the region can be ranked as soon as possible with EU environmental standards and the Paris Agreement”, Hahn explained.
“Western Balkans is a major energy potential, estimated at 2.5 billion euros per year”, the commissioner stressed, encouraging ministers of the six countries to overcome the “political obstacles and bilateral issues”.
