Astronomical Professor Grants Land for Building First Observatory in Kosovo

After the amendment to the construction of the first Observatory and Planetarium in Kosovo, a few days ago received the green light in the Parliament, the professor and co-founder of the Astronomy Oceanach organisation of Kosovo, Milaim Rushiti, chose to help the initiative by granting its parcel to build the Observatory. Although he describes it as a contribution [...]
Even though he calls it a small contribution, his election is a major step towards building the first astronomical centre in Kosovo. He had made that decision in June of last year when he even started with the idea of building a monitoring center.
For construction.info, Rushiti has shown that after discussing with other members of the organisation's board, they agreed that building the observatory will be done on its parcel, whose characteristics meet most of the conditions for its construction:
The parcel has a surface of 5 gold, but if it needs expansion, we can divide even more if the need for more space is increased in the future. There are certain criteria that need to be met for astronomical observations, such as clear night from the powder of gases, away from cities, as well as oversea altitudes. The Parcell where we've decided to build the Observatory and planetarium completes its naval course is a little low because the location where it lies is at a height of over 600 meters”, Rushiti indicated.
The value of the parcel donated by it is over 2,500 euros, while after the completion of the construction, the first Observatory and Planetarium in Kosovo will be open to all Kosovo citizens and beyond.
It will also enable all Kosovo schools to bring students to learn about the science of Astronomy as well as to observe with telescopes that will be available. They will also have the chance to conduct different experiments in the field of physics, geology, Kimia and so on.
