What App will stop operating for millions of phones within the next two months as the company draws support for several old mobile platforms.

On February 1st of next year, any iPhone operating with IOS 8 or the oldest operating system will no longer be supported, along with any Android device that executes 2.3.7 or older.

Users of these operating systems are currently unable to create new accounts in Whatsapp or to verify existing accounts again.

Furthermore, Whatsapp is drawing support for all Windows phones from December 31st, 2019.

What App said “that we no longer actively develop platforms for these operating systems, some features can stop functioning at any time”.
