Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, has said that as far as he is concerned, the spying relationship with Russia is a closed issue following talks with the Russian ambassador to Belgrade, Aleksandr Bocan Harchenko.
Our conscience is clean and I am convinced that we will continue to develop better relations. If the Russians have anything to blame us for, I would like to hear it”, Vuciq said in Soci, Russia, where he will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday.
On November 21st, President Vuciq, after the meeting of the National Security Council, confirmed that Serbia has, in some cases, ascertained and documented through photos, videos and audio recordings, contacts of the subcolonel, Georgy Kleban, members of the Russian Military Intelligence Service (GRU) and members of Serbia's Army.
“We also have evidence for several members of Russian security services and nine members of our military forces” had declared Vuciq.
According to Beta agency, Vuciq said Serbia “will always defend its independence”, but that he believes in friendship with Russia.
Vuciq has said that the topics of talks with Putin will be Kosovo, regional issues, but also the political situation in Europe and the world, as well as bilateral co-operation after the signing of the agreement between Serbia and the Euro-economic Union.
