Authorities hoped they could get eight supposed dead persons on the island Wednesday.
So far, six people have been confirmed dead in tragedy. Police said that out of 30 injured, 25 are in a critical situation, while the other five are classified as stable but serious.
Volcani, also known as Whalkaari, erupted on Monday when dozens of tourists were on the island.
I have spoken with many of those involved in the operation and they are very, very willing to return there, they want to bring loved ones home,” Prime Minister Yacinda Ardern told reporters before the journalists, the BBC writes.
Meanwhile, the process of identification after the death of the victims is under way./Periscopi/
