Of course, the title of this article is sarcastic and does not reflect Periscop's editorial attitude. England had no reason to apologize for defeating 1-4 of us in the “Fadil Vokrri”, although it would have been better to be more consistent.
But our hospitality to English fans during that weekend was mentioned in the New Year's wish by Nicholas Abbott.
“Veykin when the football match was held between Kosovo and England in November will forever be a special memory of me. The warmth of hospitality for English fans was the best they've accepted anywhere in the world, and I still feel very privileged to have had the opportunity to experience as British ambassador here. Despite the outcome of the game, this event has renewed the proximity between our two countries. writes Mr. Abbott.
We remember that the current United Kingdom ambassador to Kosovo took office only four months ago by Mr. Ruairi O'Connell.
Below you have full status of Mr. O'Connell in Albanian and Serbian:
During this holiday season, I would like to share some thoughts and impressions from the first four months in Kosovo. This is a country full of life, young and very potential. I am very grateful for the warm hospitality that my family and I have accepted here.
It has been a pleasure and a privilege to spend time with the men and women of the Kosovo Security Force over the past months. They represent Kosovo's best -- professionals, skilled and all communities. KSF members have been among the first to have helped those in need of rescue and assistance after the earthquake in Albania last month. Their ability and courage have been rightly valued. We will continue to support KSF with assistance and training in 2020.
In October, the LSM Sophie, Wessex Countess has visited Kosovo, where he met with survivors of sexual violence in the conflict, stressing the importance of the issue. In past weeks we have heard of painful cases of stigma that are continuing to affect innocent victims, even within their families. It is time for all of us to speak up for the rights and dignity of victims of these terrible crimes, offer you support, solidarity and accept them.
The weekend when the football match between Kosovo and England was held in November will forever be a special memory of me. The warmth of hospitality for English fans was the best they've accepted anywhere in the world, and I still feel very privileged to have had the opportunity to live as British ambassador here. Despite the outcome of the game, this event has renewed the proximity between our two countries.
As we approach the end of 2019, I want to wish you a new 2020 year of joy and prosperity.
