“Trump has sent a brief letter saying they are willing to continue their commitment in finding ways to overcome problems in our relations,” said Lavrov in a television presentation, quoted by Interfax.
The letter was in response to Putin's bid to establish a mortorium for the development of missiles banned from the medium-term nuclear agreement, he added.
The US officially abandoned the INF agreement with Russia in August, claiming Moscow was breaking the deal and had already imposed a kind of banned missile, which the Kremlin denies.
