Thaci: Albania we love, but Serbia committed genocide against us

The country's president, Hashim Thaci, has refused participation in the summit for the Balkan Schengen Mini, which is held in Tirana, writes Periscopi. “As a result, I, as president of the Republic of Kosovo, on behalf of state institutions refuse participation in the third meeting of this regional format held in Tirana”, wrote Thaci Thaci said among [...]

Thaci has said among other things that Serbia has committed genocide in Kosovo and that such invitations are meaningless.
Serbia has committed genocide against the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, and today not only does it deny the crimes committed, but it continues to reject the existence of our state. In such a situation, calls and initiatives for regional co-operation are completely meaningless. Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina do not recognise the state of Kosovo”, Thaci writes.
His complete scripture:
The prime minister of the Republic of Albania, my friend Edi Rama, thanks for the invitation to attend the regional meeting of Western Balkan states. As president and on behalf of all citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, I once again express my highest gratitude for the continued support of the Republic of Albania.
Support and mutual co-operation between Kosovo and Albania is natural and permanent. However, as opposed to the Republic of Albania, the Republic of Kosovo continues to have serious obstacles to consolidating its citizenship. Unfortunately, the main obstacle comes from Serbia, which in all forms and opportunities constantly undermines our efforts to consolidate our citizenship.
Serbia has committed genocide against the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo and today not only denies crimes committed, but continues to reject the existence of our state. In such a situation, calls and initiatives for regional co-operation are completely meaningless. Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina do not recognise the state of Kosovo.
This implies that these two states do not want good neighbourly relations and co-operation with Kosovo. Therefore, as long as there is no mutual recognition with these states, there can be no progress in terms of regional co-operation. After all, Kosovo aims at NATO and EU membership, rather than becoming part of regional experimental initiatives, which are the result of the EU's inability to open the door to membership of Western Balkan states.
In the end, I would like to stress that the circumstances that have unable the Republic of Kosovo to participate in the first meeting held in Novi Sad and that the second held in Ohrid have not changed. As a result, I as president of the Republic of Kosovo, on behalf of state institutions refuse to attend the third meeting of this regional format held in Tirana. HTH
