Research conducted by University of Texas, the first to show clearly the risk of metabolic syndrome caused by energy drinks, has shown that the latter cause health conditions if consumed on a daily basis.

According to the study, there is enough energy to narrow blood vessels for 90 minutes after consumption. Their grief, according to research, leads to health problems such as heart attack and cardiac arrest

To accomplish the search, the team from the Texas University ranks received 44 students for samples from McGovern Medical School.

Researchers wanted to test the effects of energetic beverages on endohelium, the cell layer on the surface of the veins, arteries, and other blood vessels.

Before testing, participants consumed an energy drink and, 90 minutes later, the team found that the internal diameter of blood vessels was halved.

This happens, according to scientists, since ingredients such as caffeine, sugar, taurine, and others lead to increased blood sugar, which causes blood flow to decrease in vital body organs.

Dr. John Higgins, professor of medicine at McGovern School, has also spoken of the importance of social study.

After energy drinks are becoming increasingly popular, it is important to study the effect of these drinks on people who are constantly using them, as well as to better determine whether these drinks are safe to consume”, Dr. Higgins.

The findings of this study were released and discussed at the Scientific Session of the American Heart Organisation in Chicago, U.S.A.
