Technology record: Makes the Wi-Fi connection 700 kilometers away

Turin's Polytechnic University has set a technological record with the invention of Wi-Fi connection between a sensor and a receiver more than 700km away, specifically between Sardinia and Spain. The experiment began in 2017 and was conducted by the Xem Labs universities, which have always been engaged in digital research with the aim of building an autonomous and alternative system for collecting applicable mobile data in every country, even at distance, despite energy availability and covering conditions.
For the system to be stable and reproductive, two essential features are required: very low energy consumption and long-term connections.
To make the experiment real, sensors have been reduced to a minimum, equipped with minute antennas (less than 2cm) with energy supplied by two simple, alkaline, and nonrecoverable batteries.
