The Ministry of Health and the National Public Health Institute inform citizens of the Republic of Kosovo that around 100,000 seasonal flu vaccines purchased by the MS in the function of preventing seasonal flu have reached Kosovo.
Since this morning, the teams of the main Centres of Family Medicine in Kosovo, according to the invitation being extended the day before by the MS and the IKSHKP, have begun providing vaccines, with which their vaccine units will vaccinate citizens in the days ahead.
Seasonal flu vaccines, which will be used this year, according to recommendations made by the OBS, will be four jars, and such as increased protection of the most aggressive viruses in the course of seasonal flu.
These types of vaccines are used for the first time in Kosovo, thus becoming one of the first states in the region to provide four postal vaccines.
The vaccines are pre-qualified according to WTO standards, guarantee their quality and security, and are dedicated to protecting the most sensitive groups of the population, such as the elderly and the affected by chronic diseases.
The National Institute of Public Health assures citizens that it is carefully monitoring the epidemiological situation in the country and increasing its vigilance to face cases of seasonal flu.
