Russia's prime minister, Dmitry Medvedev, has said the “Nord Stream 2” could be postponed for several months due to new US sanctions, but there is nothing catastrophic in this situation.

US President Donald Trump imposed sanctions against the Russian gas pipeline last Friday, causing a large company to stop working on the project.
The 11 billion-dollar project is close to completion, and analysts have voiced doubts whether late sanctions will affect halting its implementation.
According to the company that is building this pipeline, another 100 miles [160 km] along the Baltic Sea remain to complete the 2460km project.
This project is expected to increase Europe's dependence on Russian gas, though analysts say Europe would have to reduce that dependence.
