Denmark's Red Cross is expected to distribute food for about 12,000 families by Christmas.
This is partly due to a decline in negative conflicts related to financial difficulties, according to Ziga Friberg, Chief of the Red Cross Benevolent Division.
In the last ten years, there has been a significant increase in the number of families with children applying for Christmas help. This year we will arrive at a record”, Friberg said.
In 2010, 1,600 families with children received help from the Red Cross during Christmas celebrations. In 2015 that number increased to 7,300 and to 2018 to 11,700.
