“Soul Kitchen” is the name of the non-profit organisation under which the Foundation is running JBJ of group target “Bon Jovi”, named after the initials of his name.
At Soul Kitchen's plates have no price, and those who want can leave $20 for kitchen work. Those with no money, such as the homeless, are welcome to eat at the restaurant and help as volunteers in the kitchen.
Based on the restaurant site, 51 percent of the foods that have been served so far have been paid through donations. The remaining 49 percent is covered by voluntary work by people without financial means. So the motto for the restaurant is: “Everyone is welcome at our table”. The first restaurant of this kind, Bon Jovi, opened in October 2011 in New Jersey, his hometown, while the second restaurant opened in 2016.
Our mission has always been to influence positive changes and solve issues of hunger and homeless”, the singer said in the past.
