President not part of political bargaining, people elected.

Political affairs recogniser Faton Abdullahu says the practice of electing the president from the coalition agreement must change.

Abdullah calls this issue an electoral offense at a table because it has, according to him, created a disagreement that is hindering government creation.

It would be a new and good practice to publish something different, not as if it has happened so far, especially not what is being asked to be done now that the future president is determined by an agreement that actually has no connection with the presidency. So when citizens have given the vote and when these two parties have won, they have no mandate or duty whatsoever to agree on for President”.

It's an insult to our institutions, it's an insult to the electorate to make problems just as it's said we have to deal with the president, now, that otherwise another envelope will come to us where the name of a new president will be written, not that will happen, so I think it's too much of the winning political forces to agree to that nature, the more so when this attempt to get to understand has created a dispute which also prevents the creation of the government”, Abdullah said.

In an interview for EO, Avdullahu has also shown procedures for the president to be elected through the people.

“Wouldn't take much procedure, though changing the Constitution, requires a law on the presidency, showing its choice through the people, should be involved by the Constitutional Court, but all of this is not impossible and it is more fair that they enter this procedure now and that in the future, they should give citizens the opportunity to themselves President of Kosovo”, he said.

Even the other conciensor of political circumstances, Artan Murati, considers that the election of the current president does not guarantee consensus. He says the president's election mode in Kosovo should be changed.

“Now needs to look at the modes of resolving the president because if we want the president to be elected by the people, then we would have to make a deep electoral reform, something that is now being demanded of many years, but also by the way the president is currently elected we can guarantee that we will have a president who will at least satisfy a greater number of political subjects and citizens, arriving on consensus names and in names which they would be accepted for most parties but also the citizens of the<1x> has said.

The election of the president should not be an obstacle to achieving the coalition between the LDK and the VV, Murati says.

The president is essentially a figure of the country's popular and political unity, and as such under no circumstances should be part of political bargaining. The president must represent the interests of all citizens and all political subjects and should change the trend that the president at any cost should be political or political background”.

“The LDK and Vetevendosje should focus on having a real government programme and agree on how they will rule with the country, and the president under no circumstances should become an obstacle to achieving the coalition or become part of political markets, as there is a tendency for such a thing”, Murati has said.

The Vetevendosje movement and the Democratic League of Kosovo, two months after the elections, have yet to agree to rule with the country, hostage to the country's president's position has remained.
