One in four young people, or an average of 23 percent of children and young people, is dependent on intelligent phones, according to a recent survey.
Dependence on intelligent phones, which includes nervousness when the phone is not available or neglecting important activities, has a harmful effect on mental health.
The largest number of mobile phone dependents are girls between the ages of 17 and 19, according to one study.
Our “Analysis showed the consequences not only of overuse, but of dysfunctional phone usage. We found a link between this behavior and damaged mental health”, said one of the authors of research, Ben Carter of the Kings College Institute in London.
Telephone addicts have experienced depression, anxiety, and increased stress, and they have sleep problems. Many troubled users say they spend most of their time on social networks.
The authors believe that it is necessary for the public to be aware of the problem, as intelligent phones will be used by future generations.
They say that it has not yet been determined exactly whether they are dependent on the very intelligent phones or applications they use, and they show the need for additional research to determine the possible mental health consequences of future new generations.
Scientists analyzed 41 studies published since 2011, including 4,871 teenagers and youths from Asia, Europe, and America.
