News comes after Mitsubishi suffered a decline in demand, with global brand sales expected to drop by as much as 40% over the next decade.
The company's development activities will be limited to updateing existing engines, and by 2021 it is scheduled to exclude oil options from the car model offer, Kosova Prees broadcast.
Mitsubishi expects oil vehicles to make up less than 20% of total car production over the next two or three years.
