This law will take effect eight days after publishing in the official newspaper of the Republic of Montenegro.

Similarly, there had been riots in Parliament with pro-Serb opposition deputies who had openly opposed it, causing violence and other ugly scenes among MPs.

Opposition from opposition MPs concerned the fact that Serbia had not yet responded to that approval, while we have had scenes of violence in the Serbian parliament.

These MPs are concerned that the law in question could lift the Serbian Orthodox Church's right to ownership of property it administers.

Even the Serbian Orthodox Church claims the law will take over the property, including monasteries and churches, so it has warned complaints in international organisations as well.
