According to American pediatrics, babies have to sleep 16 hours a day, while teenagers have eight hours.
These recommendations come from various experts, who also confirm that the amount of sleep should be determined depending on age.
Scientists have shown that sleep is linked to better behavior, increased attention, and good mental and physical health.
There is also a connection between sleep deprivation and increased risk of overweight, diabetes, accidents, depression, and teen suicide.
The recommended amount of sleep for children is:
• 12 to 16 hours for babies 4 to 12 months
• 11 to 14 hours of sleep for 1-2-year-old babies
• 10 to 13 hours of sleep for babies between the ages of 3 and 5
• 9 to 12 hours of sleep for children between the ages of 6 and 12
• 8 to 10 hours of sleep for teenagers aged 13 to 18.
