How many things, people or opportunities lose believing that we can come out victorious from discussions instead of silence. What a chance to be happy we see fade. Yes, for one of the secrets of understanding the welfare and tranquillity of the soul is cultivated with silence, avoiding useless discussions. Avoiding revealing too much about yourself.
“Your curiosity is the grace of the universe”
So writes Abdelmajid Beneello, a Moroccan poet and writer who has experienced the state of being happy for Atlas's silent and open spaces. In reality, we live in a world that does not appreciate silence and actually encourages us to speak louder and stronger than others. In fact, it seems that if you fail to excel by saying even the smallest details, touching your conversationator, you don't feel well. Because, often, saying everything does not draw attention to you and just turns you away from being happy and makes you experience great frustration.
Education Begins With Yourself
Plutarch argued that nature creates a just way for all to find joy and happiness. He said he gave us two ears and a tongue! A perfect joke to reflect on this.
In reality, what happens in all aspects of everyday life is the opposite. We do not listen and always talk, often saying inappropriate things! We forget that the principles of education and common sense invite us to the opposite just to be happy and to have greater tranquillity. And since we cannot expect to ask what we cannot give, it is fair that the first reflection begins with itself.
The Value of Speaking
Practicing silence and not knowing many things does not merely mean a greater calm but also avoid falling victim to envy and jealousy. As more and more people show interest or stimulate conversation with the sole aim of using information to do harm.
In fact, we find ourselves increasingly involved in false gossip and truths that have the only purpose of turning happiness and welfare away from others. That's why being happy goes through silence and ability to control what it has to say, especially to strangers.
And given that faith and honor are values earned over time, it is good to learn how to give little confidence and secrets, not to be disappointed.
