Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Breen resigned from their roles in the symbol company of the giant technology. They will leave the role of chief executive and president in Alphabet, but remain on board.
Google Chief Executive Sundar Pichai will become chief executive at Alphabet. Alphabet was established in 2015 as part of Google's restructuring.
The sister company aimed at making the technology giant “'s activities cleaner and more responsible”, as it was expanded from online research in other areas, such as cars without drivers. Page and Brin, founder of Google in 1998, moved from Google to Alphabet in 2015, saying they want to focus on new initiatives.
But on an online blog, co-founders said they would be withdrawn from the company's daily management.
They stressed that “would remain actively involved as board members, shareholders and cofounders”.
