In 2015, Facebook allowed potential users to access the app using only one phone number. Currently, users “must open a Facebook account to use the message. ”
Facebook confirmed the change in VentureBeat, explaining that “the majority of users using the middler are already getting into Facebook” and that they just want “to simplify the process”.
A spokesman says the new rule is also valid for those who are new “in the midsenger” and that those who already use the app through their account should do nothing. However, some users complained that they had trouble recording after the app reported that there was a limit to their account.
It is unclear whether the change will have any impact on Facebook plans to make its application of interactive messages. This option means that users can send messages via Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp
