We are very close to the holidays, and housewives have started providing the food needed to have an abundant and healthy evening meal for the change of years.
One of the food that's not missing on the table is the turkey. Before you go shopping to buy turkeys, you need to focus on its size.
The Golden Rule of Buying Turkey
When it comes to the latter, experts say the ideal cock for the family should provide about 450 grams of meat for each person on the table. If you cannot buy a big cock, it would be better to buy two smaller ones in size. Two little cocks ripen more easily than a big one, especially if you don't have the right appliances.
If you buy frozen meat, then you have to make sure that you give it 24 hours to slowly melt into the refrigerator. A turkey weighing between 3.5 and 5.4kg should be allowed to melt in the refrigerator for at least one day. A turkey weighing between six and five pounds should be allowed to melt in the refrigerator for at least two days. A turkey weighing between 8 and 10 kilos should be allowed to melt in the refrigerator for at least 4 to 5 days.
Another way to melt the meat is to put it in a large container filled with cold water, which you have to change every half hour. But the meat must be in the corresponding package, and the skin should not be exposed to water. This is 8 to 10 times faster than melting in the refrigerator. Once the cock has melted, he must be cleaned.
How to Clean the turkey Properly
After the turkey has melted, you must remove the package and rinse the bird with cold water outside and outside. Then it must be dried with kitchen paper or clean cotton nat. During this time, you must touch no food or any other vessel with your hands. Make sure that you have cleaned the water and vinegar cooking site, washed your hands and dried them before starting cooking and touching other foods.
