Earthquake, Austria donate 600 thousand euros to Albania

The Republic of Austria will help the Albanian government cope with the consequences of the November 26th 2019 earthquake, making it available 600,000, to rebuild destroyed or damaged dwellings.
The granting agreement was signed to the Ministry of Defence by National Civil Protection Agency Director Haki Chako and the director of the Austrian Development Agency's local office Simone Ungersböck.
Also present at the signing of the agreement were Defence Minister Olta Jacka and mission chief at the Austrian Embassy in Tuana, Christian Steiner. The signed agreement aims to improve living conditions for families affected by the earthquake, rebuilding or repairing damaged homes.
The main beneficiaries of this donation will mainly be the municipalities of Durres and Tirana. The implementation partner of this agreement is the Ministry of Defence through the National Civil Protection Agency, while the Austrian Development Agency will monitor the entire process of implementing this project and will be constantly informed, directly on the ground about the performance of this project.
The project has entered into force on December 01st, 2019, and will continue until March 31st, 2021. Austria has been one of the first European Union countries to provide its support under the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, ensuring after 21 November 2019 earthquakes, generators, blankets, portable beds and sanitation tools. /Top Channel
