three directors charged with misuse of office in Prizren municipality called for dismissal

Civil Society organisations demanded the preservation of institutional integrity within Prizren's municipality, following the establishment of the indictment by the Prosecutor against the director of the municipal directorate for economy and finance. This municipal official has at the time submitted his resignation from the post of director of the municipal directorate for economics and finance. Basic prosecutor in Prizren dated 3 [...]
The Constitutional Prosecutor in Prizren, dated December 3rd 2019, has announced that he has filed an indictment against three municipal directors and two others because of alleged co-ordination of criminal work “The use of official position or authority” by Article 422, paragraph 1 related to paragraph 2, points 2.6 concerning the 31th article in the Republic of Kosovo.
Taking into account the lack of individual will of three municipal directors who have an act filed by the Constitutional Prosecutor in Prizren to reflect on the resignation of the director of the municipal directorship, the undermarked Civil Society organisations, require Prizren Mayor Mittaher Haskuka's undertaking of concrete actions in dismissing his subordinates or seeking their resignation.
Civil Society's downplayed organizations remember that Mr. Haskuka was in setting standards for such cases and preserving institutional credibility. Since the practice of resigning has been implemented in the case of the director of the Directorate for Economics and Finance, we demand that even in this case three municipal directors accused of misuse of official office be resigned or dismissed from their posts until the court's decision.
The civil Society's downplayed organisations consider that the company of concrete actions for resignations or dismissal of municipal directorate leaders in cases of setting up charges would show the sincere will in fulfilling promises to raise standards and change practices to secure credit institutions. On the contrary, the continuation of work in the exercise of high public functions of officials with charges of misuse of official office will lower the citizens' trust in local institutions and serve as a poor practice in rationalising actions to justice bodies.
