According to foreign media, Telegrafi forwards on Tuesday, Marina issued a “Internet awareness message” announcing the ban on a Facebook page that served army members, Reuters reported on Friday.

The message reportedly called TikTok a <x0 threat to cyber security” and pointed out that everyone with the app installed on his devices would be blocked from entering the Marine Corps Intact.

This is not the first time the American Army has raised an issue about TikTok, which is owned by the Beijing-based ByteDance technology company.

But according to the media, in November, Army Secretary Ryan McCarty told reporters he had ordered a “security assessment” of the app after receiving a letter about it from US Senator Chuck Schumer.

<x0) Country security experts have raised concerns about the collection and treatment of TikT” users, Schumer wrote on paper, “including user content and communications, IP addresses, data related to location, metadata and other sensitive personal information”.

At the time, the Army did not order members to remove TikTok from their government-set equipment, although it prohibited them “from posting Tik Toks for recruiting while in uniform, or to perform official duties”, according to a Reuters November report.
