According to a new study published in the Journals of Gerontology B: Psychological Series, the secret to a long and happy relationship can be alcohol.
Researchers have found that couples over 50 years of age reported on better marriages if the two partners had consumed alcohol. If one partner had consumed while the other had not, then reports had been higher for discontent or lack of happiness in marriage.
Researchers have surveyed 4,864 people married to couples who have been together for an average period of 33 years to find out how alcohol consumption affects love connections.
They had asked participants how often they consume alcohol within a week and how much they consume.
It has been found that the amount of alcohol that couples consumed did not affect the quality of ties since neither partner had overstepped. Everything had been about whether the two partners were drinking or just one.
So since you both consume alcohol no matter how much you choose or how much you drink, you are more likely to have a happy relationship.
But before you start drinking yourself, it is another important thing to remember. The same effects on improving the quality of the relationship were not to consume alcohol from any partner.
So either you have to consume both if you want to have a happy marriage.
