Researchers at the Montefior Medical Center in New York had 50 women's brains scan and concluded. They saw a “dramatic change” in the size of hypotalamus to women who prevent unwanted pregnancy.
But they said that cognitive performance or behavior does not change, although the brain region is about six percent smaller.
In previous studies, experts found evidence between the small hypothamalumus and symptoms of anger or depression.
The research will be presented at the North American Radiological Association's annual meeting.
