Astronomers have warned that the image of the Universe may be threatened.
By next week, a campaign of launching thousands of new satellites will be launched to provide internet access from space at greater speed.
But the first fleets already shipped to orbit by the American SpaceX company are affecting the view of the sky at night.
They are appearing as bright white strips, as blinders as they are competing with stars, the BBC writes.
Scientists are concerned because <x0mega-constelations” of the lenders in the future can influence telescope images and interfere with radio astronaut monitoring.
The dark sky is common and what we're seeing now is a common tragedy”, said Dave Clements, astrophysicist at Imperial College London.
Companies involved in these projects have said they are working with astronomers to minimize satellite impact. /Periscopi/
