22 years in prison for Albanian immigrant in New York carrying home I flag SIS

Scott Alimehmeti, 26, admitted in February of last year that he had donated material assistance to the Islamic State of Syria and Iraq.
Born in Albania, he had found work in New York as a drug assistant and prepared to work at a funeral office.
However, in May 2016 he was arrested by the Joint Antiterrorism Task Force in the Bronx and charged with material assistance to the ISIS. According to the indictment, he was collecting various fighting knives that could be used in a possible terrorist attack.
He had tried to travel himself to the Middle East to become a member of I The SIS had twice been obstructed by British authorities in 2014.
