Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq met with Deputy Assistant Secretary of State and Special Representative for the Western Balkans Matthew in Belgrade today Palmer.
Vuciq, after the meeting, said he knew that Serbia and the US's views were different, however, has thanked Palmer for hearing the Serbian state's stance.
Serbian president has yet to add he has spoken openly with Matthew Palmer, while saying he believes conditions for continuing dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina will be created in two to three months.
Palmer and Vuciq also talked about the Serbian List.
Palmer said it is important to respect the votes in Kosovo and that the Serbian List had gained much trust in public.
I have discussed this extensively in Kosovo. It is important that Kosovo Serbs have the opportunity to publicly express themselves,” said Palmer.
Vuciq said the Serbian List was exposed to a brutal negative campaign in Belgrade and anywhere in the world.
These people perceive Kosovo differently than the way Rasiq and Trajkovovic perceive it. The Serbian list does not perceive Kosovo as an independent state and has received over 95 per cent of the Serbian vote. The Serbian list should be in the government if it wants to, ” he said.
Vuciq has also cited the Kosovo Constitution that guarantees this right for Serbs, the periskopi conveys.
