Justice Minister Abelard Tahiri has opened the works of a bilateral conference organised by the Kosovo Ministry of Justice in co-operation with France's Ministry of Justice on issues of judicial co-operation on civil issues.
In his address, Tahiri has asked France to intensify efforts to support Kosovo's membership at The Hague Conference and accession to The Hague Convention, the MD media report.
“Krahas bilate co-operation with countries that are above all of interest in justice, is the time and it is necessary to intensify our efforts to join The Hague Conference and adhere to The Hague Convention that is in our mutual interest”, Minister Tahiri has declared, Pryskopi submits.
Tahiri has stressed that Kosovo with its justice institutions and the work it has done with particular emphasis over the past two years on criminal judicial co-operation, has proved that it will never be the address of housing of people who have gone against the law, nor will it house individuals suspected of criminal acts abroad.
But in addition to the success we are writing on judicial co-operation in criminal matters, as a society and as a state, we are gradually moving towards international and European integrations, which, in the face of our own citizens, we must take over the rule of law in civil affairs as well. Therefore, the treatment of judicial co-operation in civil affairs is and will be the priority of our institutions in the following period”, Tahiri has stressed away.
He has also suggested that the ministry he heads expresses readiness for deepening and improving the further international judicial co-operation with the Republic of France's Ministry of Justice what he says would greatly contribute and facilitate the successful execution of our bilateral requirements for judicial assistance. /Periscopi/
